Previous
Banding Experience: Started of in The Hill Brass
Band, under the Musical Director Mr Richard Larder, who
then was replaced by Mr Robert Horscroft. I played in the
band for 3 yrs, I then moved onto the Barnsley Met Junior
Band. Mr Larder conducted the band for a few years and then
was replaced by Mr Alex Francis who is a great teacher.
Then progressed to the Barnsley Intermediate Concert Band.
I then moved to the Barnsley Metropolitan Brass Band. And
since I have started I have progressed from 2nd Baritone
to first, and now I’m on Euphonium. The Met band has
really improved my playing. At each rehearsal I go to, I
am improving my playing, techniques and DYNAMICS. I have
been playing for 6 yrs, I started off at Junior school and
progressed to being grade 7.
Memorable
Banding Moment: My memorable banding moment is
when I was first chosen for the contest. When I came to
the band I came at the wrong time as they were in the middle
of the test piece and of course I couldn't get picked but
the next Contest came and I was chosen to play the 2nd Baritone.
Another moment was when I won the 16 and under category,
in the Brass section of the Young Musician competition.
Getting through to the overall final.
About
Terri: I am very Musical. I love any type of music
e.g. Dance, Singing, Band etc. If people give me a chance
they will like me for who I am not what I act or look like.
I am very hard working and committed to College and outside
of college. I do like to have a laugh and yes of course
I do have a serious side to me but that only happens when
something important is coming up. I am quiet most of the
time. But can be loud in some cases.
Hobbies
& Other Interests: I like doing sports in my
spare time like Basketball, Badminton, and Tennis. I like
having a social life which I can spend with family and friends
again in my spare time, I also like shopping with family
and having fun. I love playing with and walking the dogs
as well, whilst I also like petting and playing with my
rat.
Musical
Ambitions: No real ambitions in music as my Career
lies in another direction, and music will still continue
to play a big part in my life as I will still keep playing
in the bands I play in now.
