Trombone

Robyn Feast

Position: Bass Trombone.

Place Of Birth: I was born in an ambulance in Hickelton on the way to Doncaster Hospital.

How Long Have You Been In Band? 7 Years.

Occupation: Dearne Valley College.

Previous Banding Experience: I have played in the Thurnscoe Hill School Band, Mexborough School Stage Band, and in the Barnsley Metropolitan Junior Band.

Memorable Banding Moment: For me, it would have to be my first trip with the band!! We went to Filey and Scarborough. We stopped at this little hotel in Filey, I was about 9. I can remember sharing a room with my sister Holly and Rebecca Thomas, we all played 3rd cornet at the time. I remember looking out the window and seeing a shark in the sea (the hotel overlooked the sea) and running round all the band members rooms shouting
"I can see a shark!" No one believed me, they thought I was joking. After about half an hour of me getting on everyone's nerves, Gill Thomas, Rebecca's mum looked out the window and saw some porpoises swimming by! She said "oo yes there is something" so everyone understood why I was running around shouting I saw a shark! it wasn't quite a shark, but they are similar really aren't they!?
That has to be my favourite although I enjoyed the "Where The Heart Is" TV recording with the band where we all had our moment of fame, it was an ace day!

About Robyn: Well as the website may say, im 16 years old, and before I started to play the trombone I played the Cornet which was my first instrument, I played the Cornet for about 4-5 years before having to move onto the Baritone which I played for a year before soon returning to the Cornet, where I progressed onto first cornet! So all in all Ihave played in the band for about 7 ish years now! I have loved every moment of it. Then I started learning the trombone, having had braces on, and I started at Christmas 2006 and played in the 2007 area contest, that was a good experience for me! Now I am progressing on the Bass Trombone as I enjoy playing it and it is a new
experience for me!

Hobbies & Other Interests: In my spare time I play for an under 17 girls football team, the Dearne and District team, and have done so for the past year. This season
we won the West Riding Girl's Cup!! yay!!

Musical Ambitions: My musical ambitions are to see the Barnsley Met' Band progress over the years and for me to keep playing and supporting the band!
