Memorable
Banding Moment: It should have been playing at
the 2nd Section National Finals in London, but that was
surprisingly underwhelming. I much prefer big
concerts. Playing the 1812 Overture in the Victoria Hall,
Stoke on Trent with Greenway Selectus Band, full orchestra
and actors battling it out in the body of the hall was pretty
memorable.
About
Margaret: I taught myself to play the tuba at the
age of 22 in order to see my husband occasionally. Job wise,
I taught in primary schools on & off for 20 years. I've
done a number of other jobs including admin work, working
in a pottery museum and demonstrating pottery making at
Alton Towers. Currently teach adult Maths and English classes
for Sheffield College.
Hobbies
& Other Interests: I'm completely absorbed
in tracing family history at present. Used to do a lot of
pottery making & china painting. I'm quite happy doing
anything messy like painting and decorating whilst listening
to Classic FM or Radio 4 or gardening.
Musical Ambitions: To actually get to play
in the Sun Court at Scarborough. To perform Suite Gothique
again.
